Wonderful House

We stayed the 2nd week of March 2019 with our large family of 8, youngest was 18 years old. For 20 years we've made a yearly vacation to Captiva for my husband's Radiology seminar. usually we stay closer to downtown Captiva because the seminar is at South Seas plantation. I was a bit nervous because it was located at the beginning of Captiva Island but it turned out to be wonderful! We went to many more restaurants on Sanibel and they were all wonderful. Everyone loved the Kayaks and pool and it was a short walk to the beach. Everyone agreed it would be a home we'd rent again next year! It was more modern than any we've rented in the past but the rooms were huge. The couch is super comfy in the living room but WHITE which made me nervous LOL. In retrospect we should have simply covered it with extra sheets/blankets from the closet. There were plenty extra. We had a bit of difficulty getting TV to work the first night but my son said they explained it to him the next morning and it was easy from then on. For the first year in many, the weather was a perfect 10! It was a great week! Thank you for the rental!

Sommergluck paradise

We were a 3 generational family, with 6 youngsters aged 3 to 15, staying 12 nights over Christmas and New Year. 7 of us escaping an English drizzle, and 5 escaping an Indiana frost. 12 days of perfect sunshine helped enormously, but the property would have been grand in any weather. The layout provides for privacy when needed, but superb areas of family togetherness, with a huge atrium living area, with galleried bedrooms; screened porches for sundowners, grandparental hideaways and mealtimes for 12; sunbathing on the upper deck; a games room for all; and then of course the pool...... a superb area with internal access and screened off from any bugs. Large enough for a good swim, or family fun, and safe enough for smaller children. TV's and video-recorders in the bedrooms kept everyone entertained in their own worlds, and snooker and card games enlivened every evening. The kitchen was well provided, and happily catered to major family meals, whilst the utility room was in constant use. The huge garden provided both a cycle circuit and a lawned refuge beside the creek, where heron and iguanas were daily visitors. Kayaking from the dock around into open waters was a thrill. Fishing was also a daily challenge, with constant rewards. There is no covenanted access through opposite properties to reach the marvellous beach. However the walk down the road to the bridge , where there is limited parking is only 5 minutes, and another 5 minutes back up the beach brings you to isolated areas where it is just you, the sea, and the pelicans. We had a couple of questions on arrival, which were immediately resolved by the maintenance team. We would certainly love to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Captiva. The covered pool was great and the property is beautiful. We had only a couple of issues- it was very hot, especially at night, and the thermostat was locked and couldn't be changed until we called the property manager and it was remotely adjusted. Also had some issues with cable. Those aside, it was a lovely week.

Beautiful Sommergluck

The home and property are beautiful We had 10 family members- they loved having kayaks and bikes. We've been coming to Sanibel/Captiva for many years and it was certainly colder than it has ever been. That being said, there was so much to do with a pool table, kayaks and bikes. With the cool temps, the management was very responsive to allowing adjustment of the house temp. The kitchen was very well stocked, linens were wonderful and the whole house was perfect for a family of 10. We loved it and will definitely be back.

A beautiful property

The house fit our needs perfectly. We came from a week on Sanibel so luckily already had many needed "staples". No luck seeing any dolphins or manatees. (The configuration of the pier/boat made it difficult to see anything.) The 2 problems were the heat at night. We had to call to have the thermostat remotely set to a lower temperature. Also problem with TV reception. It's a very nice place to stay. The pool table and kayaks were popular!

Beautiful home

This spacious home in Captiva was a wonderful experience for our family that included five couples and three babies... Kayaks on inlets were fun, multiple living spaces, ample kitchen, pool and hot tub all nice amenities.

Lovely home for a holiday vacation

This large, gorgeous , beautifully landscaped home is set back from the main road, so was very quiet, yet it afforded easy access to the beach (but you had to cross the road and go down a path!). It provided good beach chairs and beach toys. Bikes were provided; a tire pump would have been helpful. The kids loved the pool. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer on premises. The home was close to town and great restaurants, our fav being the Key Lime Bistro. All in all, a week was not enough time to enjoy all it provided.

Destination Thanksgiving

We stayed at this property for 9 days over Thanksgiving this year as a destination from the colder MN temperatures and to reconnect with family and friends. We have a large family 5 adults and 2 young children and the house had more than enough room!! The extra long dining room table was PERFECT for our Thanksgiving dinner and we have plenty of space to accommodate everyone. The house is gorgeous and the layout is phenomenal. There are so many levels and screened in porches that look out to the water behind the property. We saw dolphins and had a daily parade of white Pelicans swim by. The game room is great as it is located away from the bedrooms so you can play pool or cards or watch a movie and not disturb sleeping children. The kitchen is nice sized worked well for our stay. We had countless hours of fun in the hot-tub and pool downstairs and the fishing off the back of the dock was very, very good! You never know what fish you might pull up next! We HIGHLY recommend this property and would stay here again in a heartbeat. There are a couple minor things to be made aware of: The ice maker in the refrigerator is broken/leaking so we had to buy ice and replenish as needed. Being from the north we tend to like it a little cooler and we have a child susceptible to seizures at warmer temperatures so it was frustrating not being able to adjust the AC to below 77 degrees. The property manager was not very knowledgable but the owner stepped in took care of things allowing us to set the house temperature cooler which worked well for us. Please know there are little biting gnats called "No-See-Ums" they are especially active at dawn and dusk and I think we were there during their peak time. They are nasty little critters, so you may want to bring some spray/repellant with you. We left some in the house. We used both Off and the special local No-See-Um spray. It helps a little but it doesn't stop them. The best course of action is to avoid being outside during their active times. Of course, when you are on the beach they are not an issue...only around the house did we really have to wrestle with them. Just be prepared to itch a little bit;) Overall one of the best vacations we have every had. The property exceeded all expectations. One of our best vacation rentals ever!!! Thank you!

Beautiful!

This property has been well-maintained and cared for. We had a wonderful week! 11 people total. Plenty of space for everyone. The pool was over chlorinated when we arrived. We called the rental company and they fixed it right away. I would recommend that the rental company tell renters in their details that the home includes kayaks, bikes and all beach equipment. Also, a better description of how to get onto the beach would be helpful. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again!
